"ETICS makes build and integration nightmare activity a simple configuration activity …. Thanks to ETICS, we have not only reduced the build and integration nightmare activity in a simple configuration activity. Rather, we have also included in the periodic build the execution of tests; the packaging of the software according to a standard format; the distribution of these software archives to a Software Repository server that is used by other services to automatically download and install software on the different nodes of the infrastructures.

The deployment testing activity exploits the ETICS infrastructure as well. We are fully exploiting the ETICS infrastructure and service and this allows us to reduce the costs of our project. "By using ETICS we are able to benefit from an automated build environment which can be reproducible at a later date. EGEE assembles a large complex middleware distribution, gLite, from software components developed both inside the project and from external providers. We use ETICS to build these software components across a variety of platforms. ETICS manages this build process for us and provides command-line and web-based interfaces to monitor and review the results of these builds."
